Young Farmers to Host Ag & Forestry Gubernatorial Forum

gubsThe Virginia Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers will host the 2017 Virginia Agriculture & Forestry Gubernatorial Forum on Friday, July 28 in Roanoke as part of their Summer Expo.

The forum is sponsored by Virginia Farm Bureau Federation, Virginia Agribusiness Council, Virginia Forestry Association and Virginia Forest Products Association.  This will be our 5th Gubernatorial Candidate Forum as a united agriculture and forestry industry.  Under the umbrella of the four organizations, other commodity groups, corporations and agribusinesses will be invited to attend.

When:          Friday, July 28th from 12:45 p.m.to 4:30 p.m.

Where:        Virginia Western Community College

3094 Colonial Avenue

Roanoke VA 24015

Whitman Theater in Building Science Building.

Parking:       You need to park in Lot 1.

From Colonial Ave, take Winding Way Rd.  Walk towards Webber Building where you can access the bridge over Colonial Ave.  Take elevator or stairs down 1 or 2 floors to Whitman Theater.  We are located in Whitman Theater in Business Science Building.

1:30 PM        The Honorable Ralph Northam (D)

2:15 PM        Intermission

3:15 PM        Ed Gillespie (R)

4:00 PM        Meet and Greet with Ed Gillespie

Format of Forum: Submit questions on cards and questions will be categorized and sorted for moderator to ask as many as possible of each candidate

RSVP:  If you have registered on the VFBF Young Farmer’s Summer Expo registration website, you don’t need to do anything further.  If not, please email Jessica Walton at Jessica.walton@vafb.com  or call 804-290-1014.

For security purposes, only members of each organization and invited guests is allowed to attend provided they have registered on the Young Farmer website or with Jessica Walton in Virginia Farm Bureau Governmental Relations or with one of the other sponsoring organizations.
